  • Provide adequate and accessible food to carrion eating birds of European Community interest.
  • Reduce competition for food of the black vultures, red kites and Egyptian vultures against griffon vultures.
  • Maintain adequate reproductive parameters of necrophagous bird species.
  • Facilitate the re-colonization of historical breeding areas of the black vulture.
  • Provide a network of supplementary feeding points for the black vulture, Egyptian vulture and Red kite vulture.
  • Ensure that only target species benefit from the supplementary feeding program.
  • Reduce existing conflicts between scavenger species and livestock farmers.
  • Combat mortality associated with the illegal use of poison.
